Reigning CrossTRI World Champ Flora Duffy Shifts Post Olympic Focus to Pursuit of World Titles

Reigning ITU Cross Triathlon and XTERRA World Champion, Flora Duffy has stated her focus will shift toward acquiring World Titles after her impressive 8th place finish at the Rio Olympics last weekend.

In an interview with her native country’s  Bermuda Royal Gazette, Duffy said “I was eighth on an off day and I’m very happy with that. It’s the Olympics and if you don’t get in the top three no one cares. I’m really proud, though, and I hope everyone in Bermuda is.”

Duffy continued, “If I’d had a great day then maybe it would have been different. I still have a chance to win three world titles this year.”

The three potential world titles Duffy alludes to would be:

Duffy is the current reigning World Champion in Cross Triathlon and XTERRA and leads the WTS series with  3491 points, with Jodie Stimpson, of Britain, in second with 3146, and Olympic Champion Gwen Jorgensen in third with 3025.
