2020 Race Event
Lost Lake Park, central and accessible from Whistler Village, will be the location again for the 2020 event. Lost Lake is a small, reasonably warm body of water filled with fresh and clean mountain spring water. The mountain bike trails within the park, known as the Zappa Trails, are technical and fun and provide a demonstration of the world-renowned mountain trail system in Whistler. And the run portion climbs participants to spectacular views overlooking glacier-fed Green Lake, as well as Sproatt and Rainbow Mountains. Whistler is built as a destination tourism location, playing host to numerous local, national and international events yearly. For more information, www.whistler.com.

2021 ITU World Championship Qualifying Event
In addition, the Whistler X Triathlon will be an International Triathlon Union, Triathlon Canada World Championship qualifying event.
Age group athletes from across Canada will have the opportunity to earn the right to represent the Maple Leaf in Cross Triathlon. Triathlon Canada’s Age-Group World Championship Teams consist of top performing athletes who earn a spot at provincial qualification race, going on to represent Canada on the world stage at the 2021 International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championships. Team members have the unique opportunity to proudly represent their country, participate in a unique team environment and celebrate their sport within the global multisport community.
“In a world where participation in a World Championship is, more often than not, limited to elite athletes, the opportunity for Age Group athletes to represent a Nation at a major World Championship is unique, said Allan Prazsky, Executive Director of Triathlon BC, “it’s phenomenal what these athletes do, we need to celebrate these committed individuals pursuing excellence across every age category.”
