Action Packed Weekend Ahead – 4 Races Across the Globe

The gun has gone off and the action is already underway for the 2017 race season. Races like South Africa, Australia, Belgium, Saipan, and Argentina, got things rolling and this week ramps things up even further. Off road multisport events will span the globe April 1st & 2nd with races in North American, South American, Europe, and Asia.

XTERRA Phuket – April 1st

The second race in the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Tour, Phuket will challenge athletes with brutal temperatures as they swim in jellyfish infested waters (only little ones), navigate jungle and farm land trails, and fly through a flat, fast trail run. All athletes will be competing for points in the Asia-Pacific Tour, while pros will also be competing for $7,500 USD and age group athletes for spots at the XTERRA World Championship in Maui.

XTERRA Chile – April 1st

The second race in the XTERRA Pan American Tour brings athletes to a new location for 2017 – Santiago, Chile. The course will challenge athletes with steep, loose climbs on the bike and the run. All athletes will be competing for points in the Pan American Tour, while pros will also be competing for $7,500 USD and age group athletes for spots at the XTERRA World Championship in Maui.  Read more about the lead up to the race here.

XTERRA Blackwater – April 1st

The XTERRA America Tour is underway with the second race on the circuit – XTERRA Blackwater in Florida. “One of the reasons the XTERRA Blackwater is so popular is because the course is challenging for experts but accessible enough for those just entering off-road events,” said race director, Ben Dillon. Athlete will race for points in an effort to qualify for the XTERRA Pan American Championship in Ogden, Utah in September.

XTERRA Malta – April 2nd

The opening race of the XTERRA European Tour, XTERRA Malta celebrates it’s third year with a bigger and better transition area, a more technical mountain bike course, and same spectacular run along the cliff side over looking the sea. All athletes will be competing for points in the European Tour, while pros will also be competing for $7,500 USD and age group athletes for spots at the XTERRA World Championship in Maui.
