XTERRA World Champ Weiss Takes The Big 6 Xtreme

South Africa’s HI-TEC Walkerbay Xtreme (WBX) is a four-day adventure sports festival situated in the heart of Hermanus. The WBX features 12 events over four days with over 1000 participants and R100 000 in prizes shared among the top athletes of the weekend.

For the hard core the WBX features the Big 6 Xtreme.The Big 6 Xtreme requires an athlete to complete the six premier events that form part of the HI-TEC Walkerbay Xtreme. Earning points based on their performance in these events (a percentage, relative to that of the leading Big 6 Xtreme participant), these athletes compete for top honors over the course of four days.

The Bix 6 Xtreme events consist of:

  • 1.6km Windsor Marine Mile Sprint
  • 27km Valley Xtreme MTB Challenge
  • See en Sand Swim-Run-Jump
  • Walkerbay Xtreme Sprint Triathlon
  • 2.5km Open Water Swim
  • 17km Trail Run

This year’s Big 6 Xtreme was won by reigning South African XTERRA World Champion, Bradley Weiss. While the women’s event crowned Vicky Van Der Merwe champion.
