Spartan Race Announce Spartan Trail Series

Spartan Trail Series Will Feature 11 Races of 10 and 21k

Forefather of obstacle racing and by far the largest brand in the “adventure race” market, Spartan has announced they will be moving into the more traditional race format of trail running for 2019 with an 11 race (for now) series of what they brand as “Spartan Trail, where the only obstacle is the great outdoors”.

Spartan state, “We’re ditching the barbed wire and setting you loose on the most rugged terrain for an epic run you’ll never forget.” But are quick to remind “Spartan Trail isn’t your average Spartan Race. We’ve taken away all of our traditional obstacles, and replaced them with technical terrain, churning rivers, and lush forests for you to explore.”

Spartan Founder and CEO Joe De Sena commented to SGB Media “The ancient Spartans were known to run on the mountainous trails of Sparta, so it’s a natural extension of our brand as we work to motivate people everywhere to step outside of their comfort zones and learn there’s no limit to what they can achieve. Spartan Trail will provide a new opportunity for our racers while offering the trail running community an event like they have never experienced before.”
