Weekend Roundup: Cross Duathlon Ribadumia

One week after the city of Pontevedra, Spain was announced as host of the 2019 ITU Cross Triathlon World Championship as part of the ITU World Championship Festival the region of Pontevedra gave us a glimpse of how well they host off-road multisport events.

The Cross Duathlon Ribadumia took place on the 6th of December in the municipality of Ribadumia just 20 kilometers from the city of Pontevedra.

The race itself was a good size for a regional cross duathlon in December with 140 athletes competing. However the course looked quite fun as it wound its way through the forests and vineyards of Ribadumia.

In the end Brias Misa used his superior running to claim the win after posting the fastest run splits and third fastest bike split. One the women’s side Lara Lois did the reverse using a superior bike to make up for losses on the runs.

Full results and splits can be found HERE
